This is an individual written report of 2,500 (+/- 10%) words*, excluding the cover page, table of contents, appendices* and bibliography. *Please note that academic judgement will apply to adjust the grade if the word limit is not adhered to, to ensure fair assessment of all submitted works. **You are expected to only include essential supporting materials as appendices. This is a business report targeting business executives as audience; an executive summary is required. The executive summary should not exceed 1 page or 300 words, whichever is shorter. • You are expected to conduct desktop research beyond the reading and other materials provided in class and on the Moodle course site. • Evaluation and recommendations should be evidence-based. You are expected to draw upon and integrate both literature as well as other sources of references, including industry, market and business data and information; company publications as supporting materials. You should make every attempt to apply relevant analytical framework(s) and theoretical perspectives. You may also refer to similar experiences of other companies to back up propositions and recommendations. • Formatting and Layout: - - - - Written and formatted the coursework as a formal business report. Double-line spacing, Font size no smaller than 11. Page numbers at the bottom of the document. Make appropriate use of formatting and presentation techniques such as headers and sub-headers, tables, figures, highlights to enhance readability. Clearly number tables and figures and provide a caption for each. Source(s) to be clearly stated at the bottom of each table/figure. If the table/figure is created by the student, state: 'Source: The author'. If there is an appendix, clearly number it and provide a caption. The appendix should be indicated in the main text where it is related. Only references that are originally written in English are accepted. Prepare in-text citations and end references neatly and fully using the Harvard System of Referencing (further details below). Make sure the referencing style is consistent/nChoose one of the following cases and prepare a business report that targets the respective company's executives as audience. The report should: ■ evaluate the foreign location choice based on an assessment of the strategic fit between the company (e.g. its strategic objectives; state of international business development; capabilities and advantages) and the conditions and opportunities of the location; ■ assess potential internal and/or external barriers to exploit the opportunities and advantages offered by the target location; and ■ devise strategic recommendations to overcome the barriers and realise the opportunities.
