Question

Watch the videos The Hollywood Studio System and the Paramount

Case.

In 1948 the government supported the Paramount Decision which forced

the "Big Five" studios to break apart their control over production,

distribution, and exhibition of movies. Yet, we know that since the

1970's the government failed to enforce antitrust laws and have allowed

the growth of mega-media giants.

Identify another medium (newspapers, ra

dio, TV, music, internet etc.)

which the government has either encouraged the break up of a company

because they were becoming to powerful (regulation) OR a medium

where the government has stepped aside and failed to break apart citing

"fair competition" (deregulation). Briefly explain your example.
