Question

Water flows at steady-state and constant temperature down an inclined circular pipe of constant diameter. The pipe is completely filled with water between the pipe inlet and outlet. The pressure at the pipe inlet is Pl and at the outlet is P2. A group of engineering students is analyzing this flow using a momentum balance on the water in the pipe in the direction of flow. What would you tell them about the direction of the pressure force exerted on the water?
