While an employer is prohibited from firing an employee for the above-mentioned activities, social

media is different. As we discussed in the text, making statements that are "egregiously offensive or

knowingly and maliciously false," or "publicly disparaging your employer's products or services

without relating your complaints to any labor controversy" is not protected concerted activity.

Your assignment is to write one or two social media posts about your "job" that could get you fired.

Don't post them on your real social media account! Just share them in this discussion thread. The

posts should get you "fired" for different reasons. They should all be safe for classroom discussion

(no obscenities, lewd remarks, etc.). Then, create one social media post that covers work related

subjects but will not get you fired.

You have to make the 3 social media posts in a word file of 100 words each

Example how this work should be done

1) " I think its hilarious people actually believe restaurants have "fresh fish"... our "grouper" is

literally from a farm in Indonesia and doesn't even have the same name... Talk about GROSS!!"

2) " I feel bad for my employees that have to tip out a large sum of their hard earned tips to fund the

expansion of business projects while being led on to believe its being payed to "support" employees

that don't even exist! When will the greedy rich stop stealing from the poor?!"

3) "Wow !! I am so BLESSED to be apart of a company that works very hard to support local non-

profit businesses !! #workinghardtomakeadifference
