Journal Entry #9 - Chapter 12
Chapter 12 Reading Quiz
Journal Prompt
After reading each chapter assignment, answer the following items for your journal entry using the
"type an entry" field:
1. Explain, in your own words, a concept/theory/principle that you read about in the chapter (choose
one). Provide a clear and detailed understanding of what you've chosen.
2. What interested you about this topic? Explain why you chose the concept/theory/principle.
3. What is your takeaway? How can/will you utilize what you've learned in your future communication
transactions? Provide a specific example to illustrate how you can or have used the concept (real or
hypothetical) in a detailed communication transaction.
DO NOT submit your work as an attachment - I will not give you credit for the assignment if you
do not submit it properly. Please (1) number your responses to correspond to the items in the
assignment, (2) write your responses in separate, developed paragraphs, and (3) DO NOT include the
prompts with your responses. Meaningful and developed thoughts require more than just 1-2
sentences; your entry should be between 400-450 words. Please proofread for spelling, grammar,
and punctuation; you will lose points for errors.
