Your submission will be graded on three rubrics: your critical thought of the problem, thorough explanation, and grammar. (15 points) Scenario 1 - Big Daddy: Although a multinational corporation believes that its only option to deal with a supplier's hazardous exposures to its workers is to issue a warning, an industrial hygienist believes that there are other options to pursue. Case Summary Tony, an industrial hygienist, works for a multinational company that has outsourced most of their hazardous tasks, including electroplating and degreasing, to a small company in a developing country that has no industrial hygiene capability. At the suggestion of the multinational company, the supplier has agreed to implement basic EHS measures - but, in reality, the supplier does not have the resources or the will to control exposures. The result is the exposure of the supplier's workers to hazardous work environments which Tony witnessed, after a site visit to the supplier to discuss some future work on behalf of Tony's operations manager. Tony informally reports this hazardous situation to his corporation for action, but the company tells him "We can only warn the supplier. They are not our employees so there is nothing we can do." Dilemma What should Tony do in response to his company's "lack of ownership" of a supplier's unsafe work practices?
