Both logos should be exactly the same, the only difference is one is black and white and the other is color This may be the tricky part because again, what may work in color will not always translate to black and white. Try and think in shapes rather than lines as it will help you to simplify your logo and translate to color easier. Two layers in your layers panel; one for each logo. Named accordingly. Your colored logo layer will be named COLORED LOGO. Your B&W logo layer will be named B&W LOGO. Remember each layer can house several different sub-layers that you will use in the creation of your logos. Each time you create any line or shape in illustrator it creates a sub-layer.
