3. (30 pts.) A rope of length 2L is used in a tug-of-war contest. At a nominal stress the rope breaks in the middle at t=0. Find the displacement at the breaking point as a function of time,before the wave reaches the first man of either team. Assume that the rope is modeled as a linearly elastic rod with 1-D stress wave velocity C. As we discussed in class, if there is a change in stress, there will be a change in particle velocity.
