In class we have shown that Bohr's model predicts the energies of transitions in the hydrogen

spectrum. The energy (in Joule) is given by:

a) Given the above expression and the labeling of transitions discussed in the lecture, calculate the wavelength of the Hydrogen Balmer-3 line (in cm-¹, nm, and eV).

b) Calculate the ionization energy of the hydrogen out of its ground state in eV.
