SCENARIO- You own "XYZ" (a name of your choice) Consulting Firm. Your firm provides computer consulting, installation, repair, and maintenance to all types of customers from all walks of life. You have received a Request for Proposal (RFP) from a company that performs financial audits. The audits are delivered to federal agencies for oversight of the industry. Terabytes of data are compiled and errors in computation and storage are not acceptable. The company consists of: 1) The owner (who is the lead auditor) 2) Six auditors 3) An Office Assistant to the owner 4) An office Assistant for the auditors 5) One person in accounting (keep track of billing) You will need a computer system and monitor for every person in the list above. You should design a computer suitable for the duties of each position. You can build as many different systems as you like - a minimum of 2. However, you could build one type for the auditors, another for office assistants, and a third for accounting. A pre-built system may be appropriate for some positions while a custom design may be necessary for others. The pre-built system must also include a component list. The total computer budget for the company on this proposal is $29,500. Remember, you have to make a profit! List of items to turn in: Based on your scenario you will need to write a Memo addressed to the person/company requesting the RFP. This letter must include the scope of the work requested and a complete breakdown of services and fees provided. Include maintenance costs and annual fees. This must be a well-written, grammatically correct document. Perform an online search for examples of professionally written memos. A Spreadsheet listing all computer systems components, costs of components, and source(s) of components. The spreadsheet must be functional, i.e., it must add all of the items in a column for a total. I should be able to change an item's price and see the total change accordingly. PowerPoint outlining your scenario for class presentation - Include pictures of the parts for all the systems with emphasis on the chosen systems for your scenario. Explain why you chose those systems/parts and any upgrades or maintenance that will be required. You may choose the complete system and/or choose to upgrade components in a complete system. If so, provide a cost for upgrades, including reasons for upgrades and any maintenance included and or added for those parts. Cite all sources - do not use your book as one of the sources. Your data will need to be current (within the last 3 months). You will need to submit the following: 1) Memo to person/company. 2) Spreadsheet of components of all three systems. 3) PowerPoint presentation giving details of the systems chosen and why. Minimum of 16 slides. Do not make the slides excessively wordy. Use bullet points and pictures only. Remember, it's part of your sales pitch! If you choose to upgrade a complete system - include a separate spreadsheet to outline which parts are being upgraded and explain why. Grade Criteria: All three parts of the project (memo, spreadsheet, and PowerPoint) must be turned in to receive a grade. Leaving any part out will result in a grade of zero (0) for the Final Project. Every grammatical error is -3 Missing PowerPoint slides -10 each Failing to cover/discuss a build for an employee (Office Assistant, Owner, Auditor, Accounting) -20 for each section (memo, spreadsheet, etc) that the information is missing from.
